A Senior Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Technology and Justice, Amal Clooney is also a co-founder of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which supports victims of injustice worldwide.
She was named Legal 500 International Lawyer of the Year in 2024, and her work has been acknowledged by the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, and Time magazine for its global impact.
Among her achievements, Clooney has secured the first-ever convictions of ISIS fighters for genocide and crimes against humanity, advocated for the release of political prisoners and journalists around the world, including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa, and, through her foundation, has assisted over a hundred journalists and human rights defenders while supporting thousands of women in defending their legal rights.
Organizers of Impact 2026 emphasised Clooney’s unique approach, noting that she harnesses the power of law alongside modern technology - including artificial intelligence - to give a voice to those whose most basic rights have been denied.
“At a time when truth and independent media are under threat, her words will resonate with extraordinary force from the stage in Poznań. In a world full of challenges, her actions and advocacy are an inspiration,” they said.
Recently, it was reported by Polish Radio English Service that Clooney and her husband obtained French citizenship.
