A US government official confirmed the plan on Saturday but did not provide further details, the Reuters news agency reported.

The Axios news outlet said the meeting would also serve as a fundraising conference for the reconstruction of Gaza.

The gathering is expected to take place at the US Institute of Peace in Washington, according to Axios.

"We can confirm the Board of Peace meeting is scheduled on February 19," the official said on Saturday, as cited by Reuters.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, one of Trump’s closest allies in the European Union, said on Saturday that he plans to travel to Washington in two weeks to attend the meeting, Reuters reported.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has called a meeting of Poland’s National Security Council for February 11 to discuss key security and foreign policy issues, including the US-led Board of Peace initiative.

Nawrocki attended the launch of the Board of Peace last month at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

While he was present at the signing ceremony, he did not sign the initiative’s founding charter, Polish media reported.
