“The United States Military is and was prepared to curtail any attacks by Iran, as evidenced by the 90 percent drop in ballistic missile and drone attacks by the terrorist regime,” a White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters.
The U.S. State Department also warned of reports of possible attacks.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it would begin attacking American firms in the region from Wednesday.
“These companies should expect the destruction of their facilities in retaliation for every act of terrorism in Iran, starting from 8 p.m. Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1,” the IRGC said in a statement.
The group said the U.S. government and technology companies had ignored warnings to stop the killing of senior Iranian officials and accused the firms of helping the military identify targets.
“We advise employees of these institutions to immediately leave their workplaces in order to save their lives,” the IRGC said, according to AFP.
The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia said it was monitoring threats against American citizens in the country and urged them to seek shelter and stay away from windows.
According to a translation of the statement, the IRGC listed 18 companies it threatened to target for actively participating in what it called terrorist plots. They included Cisco, HP, Intel, Oracle, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, IBM, Dell, Palantir, Nvidia, Tesla, and Boeing.
