The meeting, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, focused on bilateral ties and the regional situation, Poland's foreign ministry said.
Iran's embassy in Warsaw gave a fuller account, saying the two sides "exchanged views on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and remove obstacles" to it.
According to the embassy, Araghchi described the situation in the Strait of Hormuz as "far from secure", blaming "aggressive actions" by the United States.
He called on European states to take "a fundamental position condemning military aggression against Iran", along with what he termed crimes committed during it.
Araghchi also raised the war in Ukraine, calling it dangerous for "some parties" to shift blame or link the conflict to events in the Middle East.
He urged European states to take "a responsible approach" to matters concerning their own continent.
Sikorski has been in New York since Monday for the UN General Assembly session.
