Opening the forum in Bengaluru, often described as India's Silicon Valley, Tusk said the city had become a symbol of modern India's technological success.

He said that while his talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday had focused on the strategic partnership between the two countries, discussions in Bengaluru concerned its most forward-looking aspects.

Tusk called for closer cooperation between universities and research institutes, particularly in machine learning, data analysis and the safe use of AI.

He said AI was transforming industry, logistics, medicine, financial services and public administration, and was already a tool shaping companies' competitiveness.

Tusk highlighted India's space programme and said Poland was developing its own space sector, partly through its participation in the European Space Agency (ESA). Polish companies and research centres have experience in electronics, optical systems, software, scientific instruments and satellite data analysis.

He cited the participation of Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski and Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla in the 2025 Ax-4 mission to the International Space Station as an example of the potential for cooperation in this field. He said the countries should also pursue concrete industrial projects on Earth.

On Thursday, Tusk met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and opened the first business forum in New Delhi.

The Bengaluru forum concluded the Indian leg of Tusk's Asian trip. He was accompanied by Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański and representatives of nearly 100 Polish companies.

The delegation will travel from India to Vietnam.
