Mateusz Morawiecki said after the talks that Sweden’s Ericsson was on the verge of going ahead with a significant investment project involving Poland’s 5G network.
During his one-day visit to Stockholm, Morawiecki met his Swedish counterpart Stefan Löfven.
Speaking during a joint press conference, Morawiecki said: “I am happy that our bilateral relations are very good. Trade is booming. The importance of Polish-Swedish trade for both our countries is growing.”
Morawiecki also met with a senior Ericsson executive to discuss potential investment in 5G (fifth-generation) mobile internet services to offer faster data speeds and better connections.
Morawiecki said: “These investments have essentially been finalised; they are just waiting for signatures from management. I have been informed on what these investments will be, but it is up to the company to reveal the details.”
The planned investment projects are understood to include the hiring of Polish-trained engineers and specialists, as well as investment in Polish research and development.
