The national carrier announced the move after US President Donald Trump said last week he had officially agreed to allow Polish tourists and businesspeople to travel to America without visas.

The new connection, to be launched on August 5, will be LOT’s ninth direct flight from Poland to the United States.

The service from Warsaw’s Chopin Airport will be available four times a week, with passengers travelling on Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The route of over 10,000 km will take about 12 hours, state news agency PAP reported.

LOT offers a total of 111 connections to destinations around the world.

In 2018, the Polish airline carried almost 9 million passengers, two million more than in 2017. This year, the national carrier is eyeing a record 10 million passengers.
