A total of 164,600 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of October, the office said.
It added that the number of housing starts from January to October was 4.4 percent higher than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector fell by 4 percent in October in year-on-year terms, while decreasing by 3.8 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency reported on Friday.
Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in a policy speech in parliament last week that his government would step up efforts to spur housing construction, mentioning a target of at least 200,000 new homes a year.
According to a recent study, Poland is building the largest number of new dwellings in Central Europe, but not enough to meet demand.
There is still a shortage of around 2.1 million housing units in Poland, according to estimates by real estate experts HRE Think Tank.
