The figure was in line with an earlier estimate by the country’s labour ministry.

There were around 849,600 people without jobs at the end of November, down from 840,500 a month earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.

The government-run statistics agency last month put the October joblessness figure at 5 percent.

The labour ministry said this month that the number of people without jobs in Poland has dropped by almost 100,000 over the last year.

In November 2018, unemployment in the country stood at 5.7 percent, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.

The European Union's Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, said last month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 3.2 percent in October, the third-lowest rate in the 28-nation European Union.
