"Today, the entire tourism industry… is struggling with problems resulting from a lack of tourist traffic," Duda said on Tuesday at a conference held by the Polish Development Fund (PFR), a state-run investment vehicle.
He added: "I hope that amid all these troubles that have hit companies [in the tourism sector], at least some of them will not only regain customers, but also that new prospects are opening up before them that will allow them to further develop… in the future."
The government imposed a range of restrictions on daily life in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, some of which have now been relaxed.
The first coronavirus infection was confirmed by Polish authorities on March 4, while the country's first COVID-19 fatality was announced on March 12.
A total of 19,268 people have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in Poland, with 948 deaths from the coronavirus so far, officials said on Tuesday evening.
