But employment in companies employing at least 10 people rose 0.2 percent compared to May, state news agency PAP reported.

Poland’s Ministry of Development said that average employment in the sector had risen for the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, average wages in Poland's corporate sector in June increased by 3.6 percent compared with the same month a year earlier.

The average gross Polish monthly wage last month was PLN 5,286 (EUR 1,180, USD 1,349), according to the statistical office.

The Polish labour minister said last month that some 5 million jobs had been saved in Poland thanks to measures including a massive relief and stimulus package that aims to shield the economy from the coronavirus.
