The country’s exports from the beginning of January to the end of July totaled EUR 129.6 billion, while imports were worth EUR 124 billion, the state-run statistics agency said on Tuesday.

Poland in mid-March temporarily closed its borders to non-residents in a move to curb the spread of the coronavirus and then extended the restriction four times.

The country’s borders stayed open to the movement of goods.

Poland reopened its borders with its European Union neighbours in mid-June.

Poland ended last year with a foreign trade surplus of EUR 1.2 billion, according to revised data from the Central Statistical Office.
