In a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart on Friday, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau expressed hope for improved access of Polish products and services to the Chinese market. He said that he was looking forward to the opening of a new chapter in business partnership including in the finance and hi-tech sectors.

Rau pointed out that the relatively good economic situation of Poland and China should be taken advantage of to undertake actions to develop the Polish-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership, which were held down by the covid-19 pandemic.

Chinese FM Wang Yi said that China-Poland relations enjoy a strong momentum fueled by the China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) business platform. Noting that Poland is a big country in Central and Eastern Europe and an important EU member, Wang said that China attaches great importance to Poland's key role in China's cooperation with countries in the region and the EU, and expects more contributions from Poland.

The ministers also discussed the upcoming 9th Summit of Leaders 17 + 1.
