People aged 60 and over are most likely to check the origin of items they are buying, according to the survey by the UCE Research group.

"Pensioners have much more time for shopping than younger people who live in a constant hurry. Moreover, consumer patriotism is most deeply rooted among the oldest group of buyers," said Krzysztof Łuczak, a retail market expert and a co-author of the study.

He added the fact that a consumer checks where a product comes from does not mean he or she will buy that item.

Nevertheless, the origin of items “is extremely important” for Poles when they are deciding what to buy, “and from year to year it is becoming more important," Łuczak said.
