Polish inflation at 11% in March: stats office

Inflation in Poland stood at 11 percent in year-on-year terms in March, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in an estimate on Friday.

The figure was 0.1 percentage point higher than a flash estimate released by the state-run statistics agency earlier this month.

In Februarythe prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 8.5 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.

In January, Poland's consumer price index stood at 9.4 percent, the statistics agency has said.

The Polish central bank’s Monetary Policy Council this month raised key interest rates for the seventh consecutive time in a bid to tame inflation.
