EUR 6.6 bn trade deficit for Poland in first three months of 2022: stats office

Poland had a foreign trade deficit of around EUR 6.6 billion in the first three months of this year, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported.

The country’s exports from the beginning of January to the end of March totaled EUR 79.5 billion, while imports were worth EUR 86.2 billion, the state-run statistics agency said.

It added that Poland’s largest export markets during this period were Germany, the Czech Republic and France, while Germany, China and Russia were the country’s largest import markets.

Poland ended last year with a foreign trade deficit of EUR 600 million, according to the Central Statistical Office.

Poland’s exports totaled EUR 285.8 billion in 2021 as a whole, while imports were worth EUR 286.4 billion.
