Polish industrial production up 1% y/y in December: stats office

Industrial production in Poland rose 1 percent in December compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s statistics office said on Monday.

The reading was lower than forecast by analysts, who had expected an increase of 1.7 percent, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in December was 6.4 percent lower than in November, the Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production increased by 5.6 percent in year-on-year terms in December, while rising 0.7 percent month on month, the state-run statistics office also said.

According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, seasonally-adjusted industrial production rose 4.6 percent in Poland in November.
