State-owned Electromobility Poland on Tuesday announced a partnership with Pininfarina, a renowned studio which has already designed some 1,200 cars, including brand models such as Ferrari and Alfa Romeo.

The Italian design studio thus joins Chinese conglomerate Geely, which will provide Electromobility Poland (EMP) with the platform on which the Izera will be built.

According to EMP CEO Piotr Zaremba, Pininfarina is a company with an ability to create both luxury as well as commonly available cars.

“This is the essence of the Italian school of design,” Zaremba said.

Pininfarina marketing director Giuseppe Bonollo said: “We like challenges. We've been in the market for 93 years and have always combined beauty and innovation in our designs.”

The collaboration with the studio includes the design of the exterior, interior and HMI (Human Machine Interface) of a model range of 3 electric cars - an SUV, a hatchback and a station wagon.

EMP unveiled two Izera prototypes in July 2020.
