The facility, boasting an installed capacity of 1 MWe, is expected to produce about 8 GWh of green energy annually, equivalent to the energy needs of a small industrial plant.

"We see great potential in the development of biogas sources in Poland and we want to invest further in this area," said Artur Stawiarski, E.ON Polska's Director of Strategy and Corporate Development.

He emphasized the importance of diversifying renewable energy sources and investing in technologies that operate independently of weather conditions.

The plant will utilize agricultural biomass substrates and waste, turning them into a valuable resource for local farmers in the form of micronutrient-rich fertilizer.

"The digestate material will be distributed by the biogas plant as a micronutrient-rich fertilizer for local farmers," the company said. "This will both support the surrounding community and reduce the carbon footprint associated with its transportation, as it will be used locally."

E.ON added that the project is part of its broader strategy to transform the energy sector through diversified renewable energy sources (RES).

"The transformation of the energy sector poses many challenges for the industry, which will take time to overcome and expand the technologies used," according to E.ON Polska.

"A major opportunity is the construction of diversified RES sources, in order to reach not only photovoltaic and wind sources, but also biogas on an increasingly large scale," the company said.
