According to data from the Statistics Poland (GUS) office, this surge has led to a record trade balance in favor of Poland, reaching PLN 31.4 billion.
The value of Polish exports to Ukraine reached PLN 51.7 billion, highlighting the dynamic growth in trade relations between the two countries.
Key exports included fuels and mineral oils, petroleum oils from bituminous minerals, alcohol and tobacco, machinery and mechanical equipment, electronic equipment, vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and notably, weapons and ammunition.
Among the exports, the most significant increases were observed for aircraft (442 percent) and rolling stock (307.9 percent).
Meanwhile, "explosives, pyrotechnics and matches" saw a jump of 420.5 percent over the previous year.
Arms and ammunition exports rose by 147 percent in value terms over 2022.
Poland's top imports from Ukraine, its eastern neighbor, included base metals, plant-based products, vegetable and animal fats and oils, foodstuffs, feed, metal ores, slag, and wood products.
Distilled coal tar imports saw the most significant increase, at 404.5 percent, followed by "various food preparations and processed cereals," illustrating a diverse and expanding trade portfolio.
Cereal imports from Ukraine increased by 36.7 percent.
A remarkable surge was also seen in the import of works of art, collector's items and antiques. These imports grew almost 5,600 percent, amounting to PLN 447 million, Poland's Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
