These comprehensive projects integrate the hydrogen supply chain from production to end-use, drawing attention and funding from the European Commission, including a notable EUR 200 million from the bloc's REPowerEU program.

The summit, co-sponsored by Poland's Wielkopolskie region and the Hydrogen Europe organization, will convene industry experts, policymakers and researchers to push the boundaries of hydrogen technology and policy.

"Hydrogen Valleys is the best answer to the difficult task of scaling up the hydrogen economy in the EU and achieving the ambitious goals set by REPowerEU," Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO of Hydrogen Europe, was quoted as saying by Polish state news agency PAP.

Jacek Bogusławski, a member of the Wielkopolskie region's management board, emphasized the summit's role as a collaborative platform: "The H2 Valleys Summit Initiative is a platform for current and future hydrogen project developers ... We are building a common European hydrogen market, sharing knowledge and experience."

According to Marek Woźniak, chairman of the Wielkopolskie region, the region's recent induction into Hydrogen Europe reflects its dedication to spearheading sustainable energy innovations.

"We want to strengthen the Wielkopolska region's activity at the EU level and point to the important role we play in integrating communities, sharing knowledge and raising public acceptance in light of the changes taking place and the challenges of the energy transition," Woźniak said.

The summit is set to take place on April 24 and 25.
