The problem may stem from the chaos associated with the mortgage subsidy program.

Developers in Poland offered 78.7 thousand apartments ready for occupancy to consumers from January to May 2024, announced the Central Statistical Office. However, more residential units with building permits have appeared on the market. The number of apartments whose construction has already started was also higher. A total of 47.7 thousand apartments were put into operation (6.4 percent less than in 2023).

This year, the supply from individual investors was lower, as they managed to deliver just over 29 thousand apartments, which is 29.2 percent less than the previous year. The usable floor area of new apartments also decreased by slightly over 20 percent (totaling 7.2 million square meters).
