All six factories will be interconnected, enhancing collaboration among scientists and businesses across the continent.

Later this year, the EU also plans to launch several AI “gigafactories,” large-scale computing centers dedicated to developing and training next-generation AI models and applications.

Poland’s Piast-AI facility

In Poland, the Piast-AI center will be led by the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center, Poznan University of Technology, and Adam Mickiewicz University.

The facility will focus on healthcare, cybersecurity, agriculture, and space technologies, according to officials.
