Polish industrial production up 2.8% y/y in March: Eurostat

Poland's industrial production rose 1.2 percent in March compared with the same month in 2024, the European Union’s statistics agency has reported.

Ireland saw the largest year-on-year increase in seasonally-adjusted industrial production in the EU in March, at 50.2 percent, followed by Malta with 10.1 percent, and Lithuania with 7.8 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.

Among member states for which data were available, Bulgaria recorded the steepest annual decrease in industrial production in March, at 8.3 percentwhile Romania saw a 7.8-percent drop, the agency's data showed.

The agency said last week that seasonally-adjusted industrial production in the EU as a whole increased by 2.7 percent in March in year-on-year terms.

Poland’s statistics office, which uses a different methodology, reported last month that Polish industrial production rose 2.5 percent in March compared with the same month a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production went up by 3.8 percent in year-on-year terms in March, while decreasing 0.7 percent month on month, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
