Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the plan on Sunday via social media, calling it good news for the growing number of Poles who choose the Balkans for their summer vacations.
Details were expected to be released following a meeting of the Polish government on Tuesday.
The service will offer direct connections from Poland to the coastal city of Rijeka in Croatia, running four times a week without the need to change trains.
The route will pass through Ostrava in the Czech Republic, the Austrian capital Vienna, and the Slovenian capital Ljubljana. Major Polish stops along the route include Warsaw and Katowice.
Initial pricing suggests tickets will start at around PLN 200 (EUR 50, USD 55). The full journey is expected to take up to 12 hours.
