Located in the port area of Szczecin, in the northern part of the country, the plant will focus on manufacturing components for wind turbines - specifically masts and towers used to generate eco-friendly wind energy.

Positioned near Northern Europe and within relatively close proximity to the Baltic Sea, the facility is strategically placed for offshore wind operations.

On Wednesday, Krzysztof Paszczyk, Poland’s Minister of Economic Development and Technology, signed an agreement with Windar Polska - an entity backed by Spanish investor Windar Renovables. The construction will be carried out by PORR, a company belonging to the Austrian construction group.

Windar Polska has received a financial support guarantee from the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology amounting to 230 million PLN (54,089,100 EUR), while Windar Renovables plans to invest 653 million PLN (153,566,010 EUR).

The factory is expected to open in 2026 and produce around 100 wind towers per year. Each tower will have a power capacity of 14 MW, weigh 450 tons, measure 10 meters in diameter, and reach 50 meters in length. Due to their size, they cannot be transported by land.

"Offshore steel towers must be produced close to the quay,” explains the Ministry. “This will allow direct transport from the factory onto a ship, facilitating their journey to the wind farm.”
