Poland ranks eighth globally and fourth in Europe in export value, according to the study by Akcenta, a financial services firm specialising in trade analysis.

Last year, Poland exported EUR 2.6 billion worth of toys, with Germany, the Czech Republic and France as its largest markets, Akcenta said in a report.

Despite a 12-percent overall decline in trade with its key partners, Poland recorded growth in toy exports to several countries.

These included Hungary, where exports rose 21 percent; the United States, up 13 percent; and Spain, up 17 percent.

Exports to China—the world’s largest toy producer—surged by 392 percent, according to Akcenta, which cited data from the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of the World Trade Organisation and the United Nations.

"Despite a moderate decline in exports in 2024, the Polish toy industry has maintained stability and a strong position on foreign markets," said Radosław Jarema, director of Akcenta’s Polish division.

He noted that Polish producers such as Trefl, Cobi and Granna were successfully building their brands abroad.

Jarema added that exporters were navigating an unstable environment marked by trade tensions, tariff wars and currency fluctuations.

"Maintaining a strong position requires not only investment in quality and innovation, but also active currency risk management," he said. With such efforts, "Poland has a chance to remain one of the export leaders for many years to come," he predicted.
