Around 76,700 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of April, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
It added that the number of housing starts in January, February, March, April and May, at around 94,900 in total, was 6.2 percent lower than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector fell 2.9 percent in May in year-on-year terms, while increasing by 8.5 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported last week.
Builders completed around 200,400 new homes in Poland last year, a decrease of 9.4 percent from 2023, Statistics Poland said in an estimate earlier this year.
