Traffic on the M1 line resumed at 5 a.m. on Thursday. For now, trains will not be stopping at Racławicka station.

The authorities of Warsaw thanked the metro team, all services involved, and the residents for their understanding.

Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski admitted that "the system startup and testing took a bit longer than we expected, but passenger safety is our top priority."

“I would like to thank once again the employees of the Warsaw Metro and Warsaw Public Transport, as well as all services, for their tremendous effort and smooth cooperation, and the residents for their understanding and patience,” he said in a statement.

City Hall has previously said that the problems were caused by damage to power supply and train traffic control equipment, including fiber optic cables. This caused not only a suspension of traffic on the M1 line but also disruptions on the M2 line.
