Polish retail sales 2.2% up y/y in June: stats office

Retail sales in Poland increased by 2.2 percent in June at constant prices compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s statistics office reported on Tuesday.

Sales of clothing and shoes went up by 11.8 percent, and those of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics rose 10.2 percent, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

Sales of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics grew 5.8 percent, while those of food, beverages and tobacco fell 1 percent, according to Statistics Poland.

In terms of current prices, retail sales last month were 2.1 percent higher than in June 2024, Statistics Poland said.

In month-on-month terms, retail sales in June were 1.8 percent lower than in May, the statistics office also reported.
