Home completions down 3.9% y/y in Poland in first seven months of 2025

Builders in Poland completed 3.9 percent fewer homes in the first seven months of this year than in the same period in 2024, the country's statistics office reported on Thursday.

Around 110,300 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of July, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

It added that the number of housing starts in the first seven months of 2025, at around 130,400 in total, was 8.4 percent lower than in the same period last year.

In January-July 2025, 3.9% fewer dwellings were completed than in the previous year. There was also a decrease in the number of dwellings for which permits were issued or notifications with a construction project were made.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland's construction-and-assembly sector fell 0.6 percent in July in year-on-year terms, while also decreasing by 0.6 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency reported.

Acc. to preliminary data construction and assembly production was in July 2025 higher by 0.6% YoY. After eliminating the seasonal factors the increase amounted to 0.5%.

Builders completed around 200,400 new homes in Poland last year, a decrease of 9.4 percent from 2023, according to Statistics Poland.
