Polish economy grew 3.4% in Q2 2025: stats office

The Polish economy grew 3.4 percent in the second quarter of this year, after expanding 3.2 percent in the first quarter, the country’s statistics office said on Monday in a preliminary estimate.

The latest figure was in line with a flash estimate released by the Statistics Poland (GUS) office in mid-August.

Investment dropped by 1 percent, while private consumption increased by 4.4 percent in the second quarter of 2025, Statistics Poland reported.

Domestic demand went up by 4 percent, it said.

Economists polled by state news agency PAP had expected investment to grow 4.5 percent, private consumption to rise 3.6 percent and domestic demand to increase 4.7 percent in year-on-year terms.

In quarter-on-quarter terms, Poland's gross domestic product grew 0.8 percent in the second quarter of 2025, after expanding 0.7 percent in the first three months of the year, Statistics Poland said.

The Polish economy expanded by 2.9 percent in 2024 as a whole, after growing 0.1 percent in 2023, according to Statistics Poland.

Poland’s central bank in July predicted that the Polish economy would expand 3.6 percent this year, followed by 3.1 percent growth in 2026 and 2.5 percent in 2027.

The country's 2025 budget expects the economy to grow 3.9 percent this year.

Polish GDP is expected to grow 3.5 percent next year, under the country's 2026 budget approved by the government in late August.
