Polish retail sales 5.4% up y/y in October: stats office

Retail sales in Poland went up by 5.4 percent in October at constant prices compared with the same month a year earlier, the country’s statistics office reported on Tuesday.

Sales of motor vehicles soared by 15.6 percent in October in year-on-year terms, and those of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics shot by 13.9 percent, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

Meanwhile, sales of clothing and shoes rose by 9 percent, and those of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics increased 5.6 percent, according to Statistics Poland.

In terms of current prices, retail sales last month were 5.5 percent higher than in October 2024, Statistics Poland said.

In month-on-month terms, retail sales in October were 6.7 percent higher than in September, the statistics office also reported.
