Police deploy Black Hawk helicopter over northeastern Poland amid severe weather

On Friday, 2 January 2026, the Polish Police confirmed that they had deployed an S-70i Black Hawk helicopter over the Warmia and Masuria region in northeastern Poland.

The aircraft is supporting emergency services from the air amid challenging weather conditions affecting the area.

The helicopter is focusing particularly on railway lines, providing aerial monitoring to assist the Railway Protection Guard.


“The Black Hawk ensures rapid response and effective aerial surveillance, especially around critical railway infrastructure,” the police said in a statement.

The flights are intended to improve coordination among agencies working to maintain safety in the region.
