There were around 888,600 people without jobs across the nation at the end of December, up by 15,000 from a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had held steady at 5.6 percent in November, unchanged from October.
Meanwhile, the European Union's Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated on Friday that unemployment in Poland stood at 3.2 percent in November and was among the lowest in the 27-nation bloc.
