Poland’s national carrier LOT has announced an increase in the number of flights between Vilnius and Warsaw, responding to growing demand on the route between the Lithuanian and Polish capitals.

At the same time, flights from Vilnius to London City Airport will be suspended.

Lithuanian Airports, which confirmed the decision, said the move was driven by declining passenger interest in the London City connection, which has been operated by LOT.

The airline won the tender to operate the Vilnius–London City route three years ago, but services are now scheduled to run only until 27 March.

According to Lithuania’s BNS news agency, traffic between Vilnius and Warsaw has surged in recent months.

As a result, LOT plans to increase the frequency of flights on that route to 38 services per week from the start of the summer season, further strengthening air links between the two neighbouring countries.
