Meanwhile, the number of housing starts throughout 2025, at around 212,400, was 9.2 percent lower than in 2024, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said in a preliminary estimate.
It reported last week that the number of dwellings under construction, at around 838,300 as of the end of December, was 0.4 percent higher than the year before.
Overall output in Poland's construction-and-assembly sector increased by 4.5 percent in December in year-on-year terms, while rising 36.2 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.
In 2024, Polish builders completed around 200,400 new homes, a decrease of 9.4 percent from 2023, according to Statistics Poland.
At the end of 2024, Poland had about 16 million dwellings, up 1.2 percent from a year earlier, national statistics office data showed.
