The National System of e-Invoices (KSeF) received its first thousands of invoices within hours of launch, according to Domański, who described the rollout as "another step in building a modern Polish economy".
The minister thanked "all those involved in this project – accountants, business owners, integrators and, of course, staff".
From 1 February, companies with annual turnover exceeding PLN 200 million (EUR 47.5 million) must issue invoices through the system.
Small and medium-sized enterprises will be required to join from 1 April, while the smallest firms – those issuing invoices to other companies worth no more than PLN 10,000 złoty (EUR 2,372) per month – will be brought into the system from 2027.
The government says the system aims to tighten tax collection, reduce fraud and modernise billing practices.
No penalties will be imposed this year for non-compliance or errors as businesses adapt to the new requirements.
