Maciej Lasek made the statement at a news conference on Thursday.
Lasek, who is the government's commissioner for the project, said that when the new transport hub opens in 2032, "it will employ 35,100 people at and around the mega-airport, as well as some 1,800 workers in the high-speed rail."
The mega-airport and transport hub, which will be called Port Polska (Port Poland), is set to increase its workforce to 43,500 in 2042 and to 53,300 in 2050, according to officials.
As of 2032, the airport's core workforce will total 3,500, with the remaining 31,600 employed around the aerodrome, reporters were told.
By comparison, the Warsaw Chopin airport currently employs some 2,500 people.
Meanwhile, the construction of Port Polska will require 1,000-2,000 workers already this year, with the figure set to rise to 16,000-18,000 workers later on, according to officials.
Government estimates put the total cost of the Port Polska project, including the airport and associated rail links, at around PLN 131 billion (EUR 31 billion) by 2032.
The project is intended to serve as Poland’s main aviation and transport hub, providing a modern gateway for international travel and easing pressure on existing infrastructure.
Port Polska's airport is expected to handle up to 34 million passengers a year in the initial phase of its operation, according to officials.
