Polish home completions down in January: stats office

Builders in Poland completed 8 percent fewer homes in January than in the same month last year, the country's statistics office has reported.

Around 14,700 housing units were completed nationwide in the first month of this year, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.

It added that the number of housing starts last month, at around 12,300, was 28.6 percent lower than in the same period a year earlier.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector decreased by 12.8 percent in January in year-on-year terms, while falling by 10.8 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.

Builders completed around 208,800 new homes in Poland last year, 4.3 percent more than in 2024, Statistics Poland said last month in a preliminary estimate.
