Monika Fedorczuk, an expert with the Lewiatan employers’ organisation, said that when data for April and May becomes available it may show that the percentage of employees working remotely rose even further.

At the end of the first quarter, 14.2 percent of the working population were performing their duties from home, up from 4.3 percent in the previous quarter, state news agency PAP reported.

Fedorczuk said that one of the results of the coronavirus epidemic would be that remote working would shoot up in Poland.

A total of 22,074 people have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in Poland, with 1,024 deaths from the coronavirus so far, officials said on Tuesday evening.
