The state-run Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) says it has been supporting the project since last year.

Hyland is based in Cleveland, Ohio. It employs more than 3,500 people globally, including in London, São Paulo and Tokyo.

In Poland, the American company is establishing an R&D centre where nearly 80 engineers will develop innovative products and services, according to the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

The centre is expected to open in the second quarter of this year.

“The team based out of our new R&D center in Katowice will play a key role in the ongoing development of Hyland’s content services platform, which helps thousands of organizations around the world transform operations and provide better experiences to the people they serve,” said Bill Priemer, President and CEO of Hyland.

“We value the depth of technology talent that Poland has to offer, and we’re excited to expand Hyland’s presence in the European market,” he added.

Grażyna Ciurzyńska, acting President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, was quoted as saying that Poland’s IT sector “is a great brand in itself,” and investment projects such as Hyland’s “are testament to the immense trust put by global players in the skills of our specialists.”

The agency says it has since 2016 supported the completion of more than 70 American investment projects in Poland, about 25 percent of them in IT and R&D processes.

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency is a public advisory institution and part of the Polish Development Fund (PFR) group.

The agency is a first point of contact for exporters and investors. It operates both in Poland and globally through a network of Foreign Trade Offices.
