Poland to hold cull as COVID-19 found in mink

Poland has uncovered its first case of COVID-19 in mink, raising concerns of costly culls and uncompensated losses for hundreds of fur farms.

“At the moment we are examining samples to find out what type of virus or mutation it is. I know it was decided to close the farm and, sadly, to cull all the mink. However, we must take all measures to limit possible transmission of the virus,” said Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska.
