Sales of clothing and shoes shot up by 31.1 percent in Poland last month in year-on-year terms, and those of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics rose 18.8 percent, the state-run statistics agency said.
Meanwhile, sales of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics increased by 1.5 percent, and those of food, beverages and tobacco products grew by 0.9 percent, according to the Central Statistical Office.
In terms of current prices, retail sales last month were 16.9 percent higher than in December 2020, the Central Statistical Office said.
In month-on-month terms, retail sales in December were 14.9 percent higher than in November, the statistics office also reported.
