The reading was in line with a flash estimate released by the office earlier this month.

Investment increased by 4.3 percent, private consumption rose 6.6 percent, and domestic demand grew by 13.2 percent in Poland in the first three months of 2022, the Central Statistical Office reported.

Poland's gross domestic product expanded by 7.6 percent in the final quarter of last year, according to the state-run statistics agency.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki predicted last month that Poland's 2022 GDP would grow no less than 4 percent despite Russia's war on Ukraine.

The European Commission in mid-May revised downward its forecast for Polish economic growth this year to 3.7 percent, from a previous projection of 5.5 percent, to reflect the fallout from the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
