“The past few days, though full of emotions and surprises, have also been a time of deep focus,” the Polish crew member said in a recent video shared on social media ahead of the mission.
“We are ready – the countdown has begun again. Go Poland! Go Axiom 4! See you in space,” he added.
The Falcon 9 rocket, carrying the Dragon capsule, is scheduled to launch the crew to the International Space Station (ISS) from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The team is expected to arrive at the ISS at around 1 p.m. Polish time on Thursday.
The long-delayed Axiom Mission 4 will carry four astronauts – including Poland’s Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, who will become the first Pole aboard the ISS – for a 14-day stay focused on conducting around 60 scientific experiments, including 13 from Polish researchers.
