Polish inflation at 4.1% in June: flash estimate

Inflation in Poland stood at 4.1 percent in year-on-year terms in June, the country’s statistics office said in a flash estimate on Monday.

The figure was 0.1 percentage points higher than forecast by economists polled by Poland’s PAP news agency.

In Maythe prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 4 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.

In AprilPoland's consumer price index stood at 4.3 percent, Statistics Poland reported.

The statistics office said earlier this year it had revised its system of weights used for calculating the consumer price index in 2025.

Next year, Polish inflation is expected to average 3 percent, according to a set of macroeconomic targets adopted by the government earlier this month.

The Polish central bank predicted in its latest Inflation Report, released on March 14, that inflation would average 4.9 percent in 2025, followed by 3.4 percent in 2026 and 2.5 percent in 2027.
