Foreigners’ share of Polish workforce rises despite fewer permits

Foreign workers hold a larger slice of Poland’s labor market even as work permits decline, with Colombians the fastest-growing group, daily Rzeczpospolita reported.

Most legally employed foreigners in the first half of this year entered manufacturing, logistics, transport and construction, based on work permits and simplified declarations of employment.

According to official data, foreigners made up 7.6% of registered employees at end-2024. In July 2025, their number rose by 8,000 to 1.25 million.

Colombians are now the fifth-largest foreign group in government registers.
