Poland will raise its national minimum wage by 3 percent in 2026, lifting it to PLN 4,806 (EUR 1,130, USD 1,340) per month starting January 1, officials said this week, confirming earlier plans.

The minimum hourly wage will also increase to PLN 31.40 (EUR 7.35, USD 8.50), under rules published on Monday in the Dziennik Ustaw journal of laws.

The increases match a proposal from the finance ministry after talks at the Council for Social Dialogue—which brings together government, employers and trade unions—ended without agreement, state news agency PAP reported.

Trade unions criticized the raise as too low, calling for the minimum monthly wage to rise to at least PLN 5,015 next year.

Employer groups described the government’s decision as a compromise, the PAP news agency said.

Poland’s minimum wage rose to PLN 4,666 at the start of this year from PLN 4,300 at the end of 2024.

The minimum hourly rate currently stands at PLN 30.50, up from PLN 28.10 at the end of last year.

The average gross monthly wage in Poland was PLN 8,905.63 (EUR 2,095, USD 2,440) in July, according to the national statistics office.
