Poland to receive €43.7 bn in EU defence loans: audio report

Poland is set to receive EUR 43.7 billion in low-interest loans from the European Union’s new Security Action for Europe (SAFE) programme to boost defence capabilities.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the funds will guarantee continued investment in Poland’s security, including air and missile defences, artillery systems, ammunition, drones, anti-drone technology and cyber defence.

Kosiniak-Kamysz told reporters earlier this month that Poland would be the biggest beneficiary of the SAFE programme, which was created during Poland’s presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2025.
